   Meet Our Tutors

Mike Tooley
Mike Tooley has more than twenty years experience of teaching electronics and he has written a number of best-selling books and multimedia CD-ROMs on electronics. Throughout his teaching career, Mike has been actively involved in the development of new courses, including the BTEC National Diploma and HND courses in Engineering. He is an Honorary Member of the City and Guilds of London and has a BA Degree in Electronics. He holds Full Technological Certificates in Advanced Communication Radio and Microwave Engineering.
Karl Brady
Karl Brady is Director of HFPT Ltd, supplying Flying, Engineering and Training services to Aerospace clients. He is JAA Part-66 licensed on aircraft ranging from light singles to Boeing 747's and is registered with the Engineering Council (UK). He holds an Airline Transport Pilots License and sits on the Personnel licensing and training study group with BALPA. Originally an aprentice with the Irish Air Corps, Karl has worked for the UK MOD, British Aerospace and British Airways. When he is not in or under an aircraft, he particularly enjoys tearing down the Malverns on his mountain bike with his eyes almost open!

Dave Davies
After completing his teaching qualification, Dave studied for a Degree in Mathematics at Kingston University. Dave has extensive experience teaching mathematics and computing and he is also an experienced on-line tutor. Dave is also the author of the Mathematics module of our PART66NOW course.

Dave's interests include cookery, travel, gardening and learning Welsh.

Peter Moore
Peter has dedicated much of his twenty years of professional working life to teaching and managing engineering students. He has worked at the strategic level at both Director of Faculty and Head of Department levels managing a wide range of curriculum areas including, aerospace, motor vehicle and motorsport engineering manufacture and construction. He was one of Her Majesty's Inspectors (1989-1992) and has experience in monitoring and assessing the quality of teaching and engineering students in further and higher education.

Dave Newman
Dave has degrees in Medical Physics from King’s College London and the University of Surrey. He holds a Commercial Pilots Licence and is a Member of the Association of Aviation Medical Examiners. Dave authored our Module 9, Human Factors module and is an experienced and enthusiastic on-line tutor.
David Wyatt

David has over 35 years experience in the aerospace industry starting with an engineering apprenticeship at London Heathrow with BOAC. His initial aircraft experience was with the VC10 and B707. Following a brief spell as an avionics technician, he decided to pursue a career as a development engineer. He was involved with BAC1-11 auto flight systems followed by B747 flight management systems. Typical projects included the introduction of modifications, support to maintenance and flight operations, defect investigation and preparation of ATA100 documentation.

He was then recruited by the US company Lear Siegler as a product support engineer on B737 flight management systems. This involved liaison with engineering & flight operations departments; troubleshooting & flight deck observation; training airline staff & preparation of system performance reports.

His next role was with Kidde Graviner as a business development manager for aircraft fire protection and safety systems. David worked on specifying new systems on aircraft including Eurofighter, Tornado and the AVRO RJ

This was followed by commercial positions with Weston Aerospace (aero-engine temperature and speed transducers) and Ametek (aircraft cooling and demist systems). At Weston he was the key account manager for Rolls Royce (UK and Germany).

His interests outside of work include: writing, football, cycling, classic & vintage aircraft.
